Luke’s Story

Over two decades of experience in the construction industry,

Oaksmith Building Ltd. is run by Luke, a carpenter, company manager, husband, and Dad to 3 girls.

Luke started his career as a carpentry apprentice at the age of 16 and, after qualifying, worked for an established firm on large building sites doing a mixture of domestic and commercial work in and around Gloucestershire.

He then changed companies to work in Mayfair, London. Where he progressed from a working foreman to site manager. He then went on to become contracts manager, overseeing a renovation project on a six story home.

After daughter number 3 was born the commute to London wasn’t for him anymore so he became self employed and took on local work. He’s been project manger for numerous extensions, renovations and loft conversions as well as general maintenance.

These days Luke enjoys managing domestic building jobs, working with local people and trusted tradesmen he’s met along the way. He also has close working relationships with several landlords and they rely on him to help maintain their properties and give building advice should they need it.

Luke chooses carefully who works on your project, and checks quality and efficiency of work as the project moves forward. He has a good family team supporting him so he can prioritise your build, with older daughters often helping with the end of job clean up and social media work and wife on hand (that’s me! Hi!) for admin and website building!
